How I can find the value of an old doll from the early 1900?
My grandmother, who died last year and this Christmas was broadcast my daughter (his great granddaughter.) It is a plastic doll made in 1900 and my grandmother appreciated. I never sell, but I have a few valuable dolls and now It would be nice to know what they are worth, also for insurance purposes. thanks
Sorry to hear about the loss of his grandmother and I'm sure your wrist does not priceless to you no matter what the dollar amount. But I understand the desire to know what you have. There are many websites devoted to dolls to help identify and eBay is the best source to find out the current market value. But first you need to know what search terms. I would like to see a picture so you can help more. (You can email me one if you wish), because there was no plastic dolls in 1900, unless the film (which is very thin and fragile) Most of the dolls of that period were of cake and then, in the1920 and 30 dolls were commonly made of the composition. dolls celluloid were popular from the 1920 in 1930 too. If hard plastic that date from the 1940's – early 1950 and if vinyl or plastic blow that could date from early 1950 until today. If the doll has a wig attached to the hard plastic is likely and if hair is probably rooted would be vinyl. Plastic is a generic term that can mean many different things, so you need to know what is really top! Check the back of neck and back to see if any marks. If you can not search the web for them. Also, you can go to www.dollreference.com to see if you can find his wrist there.
